Meet Our Educators
Brenda brings over 20 years of early childhood experience to her role as Lead Early Childhood Educator at Lakehill Preschool. Her passion for working with young children began when her two sons attended a cooperative preschool, where she discovered the joy of supporting children’s learning and development and the strong sense of community a co-op creates.
Brenda has worked in a variety of childcare settings, including a home based daycare, in an inclusion support role and in a Reggio-inspired, nature-based program. She joined Lakehill Preschool in 2018 and is proud to be part of its caring cooperative community.
Brenda completed her Early Childhood Education Diploma through the Pacific Rim Early Childhood Institute. She is committed to creating a nurturing environment that supports children’s curiosity, confidence, and love of learning.
When not at preschool, Brenda enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, walking her dog, and traveling.
Brenda McBay-Atwal (ECE)
Nadine is excited to join Lakehill Preschool as an Early Childhood Educator Assistant. Her connection to the preschool began as a parent, with both of her children attending Lakehill Preschool. She is pleased to continue being part of the cooperative community in a new role, supporting children and families.
Nadine has previous experience providing small-scale, in-home childcare, where she enjoyed creating a warm and welcoming “home away from home” for the children in her care. With her youngest child now starting kindergarten, she was excited to explore a new professional path that builds on her interest in working with young children.
Nadine is currently working toward her Early Childhood Education certification and is enjoying expanding her knowledge of early childhood development and how young children grow, learn, and develop. She is committed to creating a caring and supportive environment where children feel comfortable, connected, and encouraged to explore.
As both a parent and educator, Nadine looks forward to getting to know the children and families at Lakehill and continuing to be part of a community that has been meaningful to her own family.
